Another lady selling small birds for the same rituals |
Wat Ounalom |
A sunset beer |
An upsetting visit to the Choeung Ek killing fields where they've discovered almost 9000 bodies after the fall of Khmer Rouge regime |
This was probably the most upsetting part of the fields |
The Buddhist stupa in the middle contains around 5000 human skulls |
Some of the skulls have clear signs of the execution method |
The next day it was time for another upsetting visit to the S-21 prison |
Where prisoners (mostly well educated people from the cities) were tortured until they confessed, most often than not to something they hadn't done |
S-21 prison rules |
To lighten our spirits we went to see the amazing central market |
And a foot massage, Oliver still clearly upset |

Monkeys were all over the Wat |
Views over the valley, it's quite flat |
At around 6pm every night thousands of bats fly out of a cave. The amazing show lasts for almost 30 minutes. |
Siem Reap 22. - 27.1.2018

Amazing trees of Ta Prohm |
This temple is also known for being in the Tomb Raider movie |
Restoration work under way |
Are we lost yet |
The steep stairs of Ta Keo |
With over two million tourists every year these sort of monstrosities are unavoidable |
Crossing over to the Art Market which didn't actually sell that much art |
The Siem Reap river |
Kandal Village our favourite part of town with less tourists and great cafes and restaurants |
Wat Preah Prom Rath |
Phare, The Cambodian Circus, was amazing! |
