We embarked on our adventure on the 26th of October 2016, flying with Qatar Airways to Singapore via Doha. It was actually quite a pleasant trip as neither flight was excruciatingly long, 6 hours and 7 hours, and the planes were very good and the service was excellent.
Both of us had been to Singapore before, last time actually together when we were travelling in Asia couples years back. We both enjoyed our time in Singapore then but felt like we didn't get to visit all the places we wanted. That is mainly why we decided to stop in Singapore for a couple days before heading to Oz.
During our time in Singapore we definitely kept ourselves busy. We went to the Sentosa Island and the aquarium located on it (nothing special really), the Marina Bay and the Marina Bay Gardens, the WTA finals (something Oliver was probably the most excited about) and the Arab Street. We also ate in bunch of the great hawker centres and restaurants recommended to us by Rosanna's friend Anna, who spent several months in Singapore during her university studies.

The Marina Bay area is actually quite spectacular after dark with all the lights and skyscrapers. The Gardens were also amazing with so much to see but unfortunately we missed the light show because we had to run to the WTA finals, though that was awesome as well.
